The Information of John Drain< no role > -Benjamin Taylor< no role >
and John Cleverley< no role > taken before me this 22d..
day of December 1783.

Who being on Oath say and first the said John Drain< no role > says that as
he was going up Constitution Hills in Saint James's Park last night
at half past 6 o'Clock, a Person now present who calls himself
William Bell< no role > (and another Man) met him both of whom took told
of him and asked him "What he had get there" meaning the
Bernetts now producedInformant answered them that He had
nothing but the Bundle and what else he had they were
Welcome to They asked him then whether he had any Money,
Informant reptied No, and after Searching him, they gave him
a Push and told him "to go about his Business or they would
cut his Head off" That they Robbed this Informant of a Bundle
now produced containing two Shirts, two pair of Stockings, two
Stocks, two Handkerchiefs, one Pillow beer and a Waistcoat and
further Says that the said Bell was instantly pursued and taken
by the Queens palace, near which place this Informant found
his Bundle. And the said Benjamin Taylor< no role > says that upon
hearing the Cry of Stop Thief in the Park at this time, he saw the
said William Bell< no role > running with a Bundle in his left hand, and
which he knew away just before this Informant had secured
him. And the said John Cleverley< no role > Says that he was with
said Benjamin Taylor< no role > at this time and assisted him in Securing
said Bell, and saw said Bell throw away the Bundle.
