of September 1783 at the Parish of
St. George Hanover Square within the
Liberty of Westminster in the County
of Middlesex upon an Inquisition
touching the death of Frederick
Thomas
< no role > Esqr . lying dead in the said
Parish Liberty and County.

Thomas Hobbs< no role > Servant to Federick Thomas< no role >
late of Kings Row in the Parish of St. George
Hanover Square within the Liberty of Westmr.
Deced on his Oath saith That he has lived
there about four Years and was with his
Master in America Says that in June
one thousand seven hundred and Eighty,
the Honoble Cosmo Gordan< no role > Colonel in the Third
Regin ent of Guards and commanding officer
of one Battalion of Gugrds was in an Action
with the Rebels in the Jerfeys, where the
Deced was Captain and commanded a
Company, Says that the Deced, finding that
Colonel Gordon was absent, sent three
different Officers to find Colonel Gordon for
Orders that they all returned and reported
to the Deced that they could not find him
Says that Colonel Stuart took the Command
of the Battalion took Possession of the Rebels
Ground and foreced them away, Says that
in about less Minutes afterwards Colonel
Gorden came us and the Deced event
to him, and said some thing which Dept.
could not hear, upon which Colonel Gordon
walked away, Says that several times
afterwards on the same day he heard Deced tell Colonel Gordon
that he had not done his Duty as an Officer
and a Soldier before the Enemy, Says that
the same day on their Return home Colonel
Gordon was Warrnded in his High and did not
join
