, this 10th Day of May
17 83.
Who says that he is 26 years old, was bred a Husbandman
and was born at Longwick in the Parish of Resborough in Bucks. That
about One o'Clock Yesterday afternoon he this Examinant came to Mrs.
Colleys at the Swan at Bayswater
where he met with one James Rixon< no role >
a Labouring man. That when it grew dark the said James Rixon
proposed to this Examinant to join him in stealing a Dun Horse then
in Mr. Colley's Stable and belonging to the said William Harris< no role >
, which
this Examinant agreed to do. That said Rixon accordingly took said
Horse and broughts him out of the Stable whilst this Examinant
stood at the door. That said Rixon led said Horse a little way towards
Tyburn turnpike
when this Examinant got upon him and rode him
to the Running Horse in David Street at the Gateway of which Livery
Stable yard the said Rixon parted from this Examinant. That this
Examinant put up said Horse there and offered to Sell him to Edward
Phipps< no role >
the Ostler for Six Guineas telling him that he this EXaminant
had brought said Horse but of Oxfordshire and that it belonged to this
Examinants Father.
