Middlesex to Wit

The Information of William Clay< no role > and John Mc
Daniel
< no role > taken before me this 24th. day of May
1783

Who being upon Oath say, and first the said William
Clays
< no role > . says that on Monday Morning the 5th: of May instant
between the hours of four and five oClock he went into the
Two Blue Posts Alehouse in Cockpit Alley Drury Lane where
he saw a person now present who calls himself William Hubbard< no role >
who acted as the Landlord of the House-That at the time he
went into said House he is very sure he had in his Pocket his
Gold WatchThat soon after he fell asleep in said House
and when he awoke he found that his Watch was stolen
And the said John Mc Daniel says that on the Monday
Morning aforesaid he was Waiter to Thomas Arnold< no role > Landlord
of the said Two Blue Posts AlehouseThat he well knows
the said William Hubbard< no role > who is only a Lodger in said
House-but appeared as Landlord of said HouseThat
ontheMonday morning the 5th. day of May aforesaid he
observed the said William Clay< no role > asleep in the Tap Room of
said HouseThat said Husband was present and this
Informant saw him sit down by said Clay and feloniously
steal his Watch out of his Pocket and deliver it to Bridget
Martin
< no role > who then was a Servant in said House but
hath since ran away
