Middlesex to wit

The Information of Thomas Pooley< no role > of the Parish
of North holt in Middlesex Farmer and Henry
Grover
< no role > of the Parish of Bovingdon in the County
Herts Farmertaken before me this 14th. day
of May 1783.

Who being on Oath say and first the said Thomas Pooley< no role >
says, that a Black Mare now produced and which he found
in the Possession of the said Henry Grover< no role > , is the Property
of this Informant and was feloniously stolen in his Stable
on Wednesday night last, and further says that he found
said Mare in said Grover's possession in consequence of
the Confession of a Person now present who calls himself
Thomas Ing< no role > : And the said Henry Grover< no role > says that on
the following Morning about 10 o'Clock as this Informant was
passing by the Swan Alehouse at Box Moore in Herts, the
said Thomas Ing< no role > called to this Informant and asked him
whether he would purchase the said Mare. That said Ing
asked six Guineas but afterwards took four pounds. That
said Ing observed that " he was a Farmers Son at West end,
that he worked for him at 8 Guineas pr. Year and that
his said Father had given him said Mare in Part of
payment of his Wages".
