Middlesex to wit

The Information of Daniel Goddard< no role > , Mary Brooks< no role >
and Hannah Hitchin< no role > taken before me this 21st.
day of February 1783.

Who being on Oath say and first the said Daniel Goddard< no role > says
that on a Friday in the Month of January last, he was sent from
the Castle and Taken in Aldergate Street with a Box directed
to Thos. Hitchin< no role > in Bridge Street Westminster . That when he
came to Mr. Hitchin's door with the Box, a Person now present
who calls himself Samuel Read< no role > was there standing with
a Pen stack in his hair. That said Read said to this Informant
You bring that Box from the Castle and Falcon for Mr. Hitchin
and it comes from Brimingham " this Informant replied Yes.
Said Read the said "give me the Box I belong to Mr. Hitchin
and an his Clork when this Informant observed to him. That he did not know him and should [..] therefore take it in [..] whereupon said Read replied "damn ye give the Box to me I am going in and will pay you for
it." That this Informant delivered said Box to the said Read,
who paid this Informant Gd. and then went in with it.
And the said Mary Brooks< no role > says that she was in said
Thomas Hitchin< no role > 's Shop at the time the said Box was brought
in, and is very sure that Samuel Read< no role > now present
was the person who brought in said Box and that after
wards run out of the Shop with it again. And the said
Hannah Hitchin< no role > says that she is the Wife of said Thomas
Hitchin
< no role > and was in her Shop at the time said Box was
brought in, and does verily that said Samuel Read< no role > is
the Man who brought it in. That when said Read
brought in said Box. he asked this Informant if Mr. Jones
lived there". this Informant replied that Mr. Jones did live
there but the Shop was Mr Hitchins's. That said Read
