Elizabeth Edwards< no role > Singlewoman who lives at Mr. Crusos' at
No. 7 in Coventry Court , on her Oath says, that on Monday
Morning last between Eleven and Twelve o Clock, Mrs. Thompson came to
her, and desired Deponent to go to Mrs. Marsh to enquire
about her Maid, the Maid herself opened the Door, and Dept.
asked for Mrs. Marsh, who came to her in the Parlour,
Deponent said she came to her on an affair that was very
particular, that the Neighbours had missed her maid for a
Day, and that when they did see her again, they were
supprized to see her delivered of her burthen, Deponent
then asked Mrs. Marsh if her Maid had been brought to Bed
she said, she had Miscarried, Deponent said she could not
beleive that, for that she thought she had gone her full
time, Mrs. Marsh said, she was not, for that she could
take her Oath she was only about four or five Months gone
and it was nothing but a Miscarriage. Then Mrs. Marsh
said, if you will sit down, I will tell you the truth, and
said her maid went to Bed with the young Woman in the
first Floor, as her Husband was not at home, on the Thursday
Night
