The Information of Andrew Elson< no role >
take upon Oath this 5th day of May 1781
before William Hyde< no role > Esquire

Who saith that a bought to Month ago, an a Tuesday Evening,
he went eat some Soup in a Cellar in Bridges Street Covent Garden
that Samuel Davies< no role > , the Prisoner, was in Company with
Several others, in the said Cellar, that the said Davis and
his Companions pushed this Deponent against the Wainnott,
and afterwards struck him, and gave him Several blows, on
and about his Head and fail, that as Soon as they had left
beating this Deponant they went out of the Cellar. this
Deponent then immediately cry'd out that he was rob'd of
his Watch by the persons who was in the Cellar
but all said they knew nothing of it. That about Six days
ago this Deponent was Inform'd by a Man who was in a Publick
House that one Samuel Davis< no role > (the Prisoner) had get this
Deponents Watch, that on this Day this Deponent met
said Davis in the Street. and took him into Custody
with the Watch upon him, that was taken out his
Pocket as aforesaid
