Middlesex to Wit


The Information of Thomas Thompson< no role > of Smithy brook near
Wigan in Lancashire Servant to John Shelly< no role > Owner of
the Kendal Waggons taken before me this 18th. day of
May 1781

Who being upon Oath says, that last Night about 9 o Clock
a person now present who calls herself Diana Groves asked this Informant
(who was then in the One Shilling Gallery of Drury Lane Theatre) to go
with her-Says that he went with her to a Public House, which
he cannot recollect. and had at that time ten Guineas in his Pocket
That they drank some Wine at said House & soon afterwards she
said Diana Groves< no role > left him, that immediately after she was gone
he missed four Guineas out of his Pocket and doth verily believe
that the said Diana Groves robbed him of the Same
