Middlesex to Wit


The Information of Jonathan Thomas< no role > , Landlord of the Crown
Alehouse at North End in the parish of Fulham Victualler
taken before me this 8th. day of May 1781

Who being upon Oath says that yesterday afternoon two
persons now present who call themselves John Pocock< no role > and Peter Atkins< no role >
came into this Informants House atWNorth End aforesaid and
drank two Pinto of BeerThat during the time they were drinking the
Beer he perceived that two Cases and two Linne to which had hung
up in the Room were taken from off the Nails and on looking at the
said Pocock he pereised one of the said Cases and one bird under his
Coat, which he was endeavouring to Conceal and the other Case and
Bird in his HandThat he immediately took the said Cases and Birds
from him and put them in the places from whence they were taken
[..] that in less than a quarter of an hour one of said Birds called
[..] inct was stolen out of one of the Cases and no other persons [..]
were in said Room but said Pocock and Atkins and on his Attempting
to Stop the said Pocock from going out of said Room and declaring he
had stolen his Bird the said Peter Atkins struck him a Violent
Blow on his head and [..] threatened to knock his Brains out if he
did not let them go; from all which Circumstances this Informant
further says that he is very sure that the said Pocock and Atkins
feloniously stole his said Bird
