Deponents Notice when the same would be Tried and these Deponents
relying on what the said Mr. Roberts informed them went House and did
not receive any Notice to Attend and give Evidence against the said Elizabeth White< no role >
until the Evening of the next day Friday when the said Mr. Roberts came to
give the said Deponent Bartholomew Pattorson Notice to attend on the next
Morning Saturday but these Deponents in the afternoon of the same day had
been informed that the said Elizabeth white< no role > had been Discharged and was at
Home And these Deponents Say that they have since been informed that the
said Elizabeth White< no role > was Discharged by proclamation and that the Recognizance
of these Deponents was by this Honourable court ordered to be Estreated
And these Deponents Severally Say that they did not Neglect to attend and
give Evidence against the said Elizabeth White< no role > through any favour or Affection
or for any Reward or the hope or promise thereof but that such Neglect was
entirely occasioned by the said Mr. Roberts who had promised to give these
Deponents Notice when the said Tryal would come on as aforesaid and nd
through any other reason or motive whatsoever therefore these Deponents
humbly pray that this Honourable Court will be pleased to order their said
Recognizance to be Discharged.
