Nathaniel Hartley< no role > Servant to General George
Howard
< no role > of North Audley Street in the parish of Saint George Hanover
Square in the County of Middlesex Maketh Oath and Saith That on the
Twenty Seventh Day of June last he this Deponent James Pomroy< no role > and
Robert Crown< no role > were severally bound by Recognizance before Thomas Bishop< no role >
and John Lane Esquires Two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for
the said County in the penalty of Forty Pounds each Upon Condition That
he this Deponent should prosecute and the said James Pomroy< no role > and
Robert Crown< no role > give Evidence against the said Ralph Lawson< no role > otherwise
Bartrup and Mary Ryan< no role > at the then next Session of Gaol Delivery to be
holden for the said County for Feloniously Stealing Thirteen Guineas and
Sixteen Shillings this Deponents property And this Deponent Saith That
he this Deponent was in July Session last very much Afflicted with the
Gout and likewise so Ill with the Blows and Ill Treatment which he
received at the time he was Robbed as not to be able to Attend to
prosecute the said Ralph Lawson< no role > otherwise Bartrup and Mary Ryan< no role >
at the said July Session And this Deponent Saith That he has been
informed Thats the said Robert Crown< no role > and James Pomroy< no role > (who were Bound
over in Recognizance with this Deponent as aforesaid) did make their
Affidavit in the said July Sessions last of this Deponents being Ill as
aforesaid And that the said Affidavit was read in Court and that the
Court did thereupon Order that the Recognizance of this Deponent the said
Robert Crown< no role > and James Pomroy< no role > should be Respited until the September
Session following And this Deponent Saith That he did Attend (although
he was then very Ill) with the said Robert Crown< no role > and James Pomroy< no role >
on Friday the Eleventh Day of September last at Hicks Hall in Saint John
Street and did there prefer a Bill of Indictment against the said Ralph
Lawson
< no role > otherwise Bartrups and Mary Ryan< no role > for the Felony aforesaid and did
give his Evidence thereon before the Grand Jury which said Bill of
Indictment was by the said Grand Jury returned a True Bill And this
Deponent Saith That on the Monday following being the Fourteenth Day of the
said Month of September this Deponent did go to the Sessions House in the
Old Bailey in a Coach being very Ill and Weak and not able to Walk and
not seeing the said Prisoners Names on the List nor any of the Witnessess
that were to Attend and give Evidence on this Deponents behalf against the
said Ralph Lawson< no role > otherwise Bartrup and Mary Ryan< no role > this Deponent
did return Home again (being very Ill and not able to stay) to the said
General Howard's House in North Audley Street aforesaid And this
Deponent Saith That on the next Day being Tuesday this Deponent was
extreamly Ill with the Gout and a Violent Pain in his Side which
