this Deponent Verily believes was occasioned by the Blows and Ill
Treatment which he received at the time he was Robbed as aforesaid which
rendered him Utterly Incapable of Attending at the said Sessions House in
the old Bailey to give Evidence against the said Prisoners Ralph Lawson< no role >
otherwise Bartrup and Mary Ryan< no role > on the Indictment aforesaid And this
Deponent Saith That he continued so Ill as aforesaid for the space of Three
Weeks and Upwards And Saith That he hath since been informed That the
said Ralph Lawson< no role > otherwise Bartrup and Mary Ryan< no role > were Discharged
and that this Deponents Recognizance was at the same time Ordered to be
Estreaded by the Court for this Deponents Neglecting to Attend to give Evidence
against them which Information this Deponent believes to be True And
this Deponent further saith That if he had not been Ill as as aforesaid he
would have Attended at the said Sessions House in the Old Bailey to have
given his Evidence against the said Ralph Lawson< no role > otherwise Bartrup and
Mary Ryan< no role > according to the Condiction of the Recognizance entered into
by this Deponent as aforesaid And Lastly this Deponent Saith That he
did not Neglect to Attend and give Evidence against the said Prisoners
Ralph Lawson< no role > otherwise Barturp and Mary Ryan< no role > through any favour
or Reward or the hope or Promise thereof but that such Neglect was
occasioned by this Deponents Illness as aforesaid and through no other reason
or Motive whatsoever
