Jno. Berry< no role > Mariner on Board the Friendship That
last Fryday abt. Noon he Saw the Deced last off a Rope from
a Craft or Bargs that was lying at Mr. Scott Moorings near
New Crane Stairs Shadwell & went off with his Craft coming
down with the Tide-The Craft was Emptyheard the
deced Say That if they made if Fast to the [..] Craft say
more he wou'd Cat the Ropeheard him speak the Words
to the Ships Company on Deck, but cannot Say partlarly to
whom, That he saw the Deced upon the Garrett of the
Croft & soon after the speaking of the Words he saw a
piece of Wood in the Air [..] coming towards the
deceddid not see who have it, but afterwards heard
Willm. Platten< no role > say he liv'd it-Says he saw the
piece of Wood hit the Deced upon the Head who
had an Oar in his head says he saw the Deced fall
overboard owing to the Blow Reced from the piece
of Wood, for he saw the piece of Wood hit him on the
HeadSays the deced was taken up dead the same
day not of the Water for he saw him dead in abt. an
hour after he was taken upSays he saw the Deced
rise ones after his felling overboardSays the Croft
was at her Moorings, bet heard not other Words than
what he above swears & says the Croft was remvo'd
from her Moorings & in her passage when he saw the
piece of Wood in the AirSaw only one piece of Wood
