Spittlefields Coal Mercht .(Aged 15 Yrs) Says that last
Fryday afore dinner he saw a piece of Wood how out of
a Ship and hit the deced on the Head who was on one
side of the Croft going downwards wth. his Croft-does
not know who throw'd itSays he saw pieces of Wood
thrown two or three Timesbybut cannot Say by whom-Says
he did not see the Rope last off the Croft-but Says
he saw the deced Knock'd over board-did not had him
taken up for he went directly from his own Croft to tell
his young Mar. what had happen'dSays he saw the
deced dead out of the Water in abt. half an hour after.

Apprentice to Messrs. Elliot & Scott Brewers at Stratford
Says he was rowing the Barge with one Oar & the
deced at the Stira showing the Barge with his Oar
did not loe any Thing hit the deced but saw him
fell into the WaterSays that after the piece of Wood
as he Supposes had done its execucon it went over boardit was
not very lays, but better than half a foot long to four
inches in DiameterSays he heard Words pass between
the Deced & somebody on board the Friendship & heard
the deced Say That if they made it Fast any more he
would last it att. Says he saw two or three pieces
of Wood as he Believes thrown at the Deced but they
all went into the Water.
