Southwark


Informations of Witnesses taken at the
parish of Saint Thomas within the Borough of
Southwark in the County of Surrey on the 30th. day
of July 1792 on view of the Body of George Axtell< no role >
now here lying dead

Daniel Dickenson< no role > of Union place in the parish of Christ
Church Surrey Stone Mason being on Oath saith that on Friday Evening last as
he was passing along the Road leading from the Obelisk to the
Kings Bench Prison he observed two boys (one of which was the
deceased ) on Horse back that the Horse was on gentle hot and
had bolled about 6 yards when the Boy [..] who [..] sat behind the deced fell
from the [..] Horse to the Ground that he caught hold of the
deceased who also fell but his foot Caught in the Stirrup that
the Horse then Hopped and Dept and some other person
went to take hold of the Horse who taking bright ran off
with the deceased hanging to the Stirrup by his Leg and his
head against the Ground and Galloped about fifty Yards
when deceased fell quitt from it to the Ground that the
Defender immediately ran up to the deceased and found
him much hurt about the head and a deal of blood round
his mouth that at the time the Dependut came up the
deceased was then alive
