Informations of Witnesses taken
at the Parish of Allhallows Barking in the
ward of Tower in London aforesaid on the
24th day of June 1791 on view of the Body of
Joseph Gilbert< no role > Fossett now here lying dead

James Underwood< no role > [..] man a Waterman and a Lodger at No. 4
Glorter Court Beer Lame London maketh Oath that about half an
fast Eleven OClock at Night of Wednesday last Dept. Mr. Fossett< no role >
and another Parson went down to a Sluice near Kings Stairs in
the Tower Hamlet adjoining the River Thames for the purpose of taking
for the deced Joseph Gilbert< no role > Fossett a little boy Son of the said Mr
Fossett he having been missing an Dept. understood two or three hour
before that they will got into a Boat [..] and from her got out upon
upon the Maid near the Sluice with a Candle and Lanthern that
after looking a little time they discovered the deced lying on the
causeway of Kings Stairs near the said Sluice little under the Water quite dead that
the deced ever conveyed to his Fathers said Mr. Fossett house who lives
in Seeking Lane in the parish of Allhallows Barking London

Jane Lambert< no role > [..] of No. 16 Seething Lane London maketh
Oath that she saw the deced on the [..] Tower Wharf above
eight OClock on Wednesday Night last that he was playing near
the Kings Stairs facing the Tower that she saw the deced jump
from the Wharf down upon the Steps or Stairs and go up on the
other side of the Wharf and immediately after Dept. missed the
deced. and immediately after Dept. saw that floating in the Water
which led Dept to think that the deced had fallen into the Water
that the Hat was taken up by a Waterman in a Boat who landed
at Tower Stairs and Dept. went in hard of the deced but could
not see or hear anything of him
