An Inquisition indented taken for our Sovereign Lord the King at the parish
of Allhallows Barking in the Ward of Tower in the City of London on the twenty fourth day of
June in the thirty first Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace
of God of Great Britain France and Ireland they Defender of the Faith Etc. before Thomas
Shelton Gentleman Coroner of our said Lord the King for the City of London and Borough of
Southwark on view of the body of Joseph Gilbert< no role > Fossett now here lying dead by the Oath
of Joseph Shepherd< no role > John Clark< no role > Thomas Casson< no role > John Kitchingman Jospeh Morrice Joseph< no role >

Cook and Thomas Harring good and lawful Men of the City of London aforesaid who being
now here duly chosen sworn and charged to inquire for our said Lord the King when how
and in what manner the said Joseph Gilbert< no role > Fossett came to his death Say upon their
Oath that the said Joseph Gilbert< no role > Fossett on the twenty second of June in the
Year aforesaid accidentally casually and by Misfortune did fall into the River Thames
said in and with the Waters of the said River was suffocated and Drowned of which said
Suffocation & Drowning the said Joseph Gilbert< no role > Fossett did then and there Die And so the
Jurors aforesaid upon their Oath aforesaid do say that the said Joseph Gilbert< no role > Fossett
in manner and by the means aforesaid accidentally Casually and by misfortune was
suffocated and drowned In Witness whereof as well the said Coroner as the said Joseph
Shepherd

in their presence have hereunto set their Hands and Seals the Day Year and Place
