being proposed the Right Honorable Lord Mayor to be Elected a
Governor of these Hospitals It is Ordered that such Election shall
be determined by a Majority of Votes at the next General Court and
that Notice of such intended Election be inserted in the Summonses
for such Court

preposed as a Governor


Mr. Richard Dalton< no role > of Abchurch Lane in the City of London
being proposed by Thomas Wright< no role > Esquire Alderman to be Elected a
Governor of these Hospitals It is Ordered that such Election shall
be determined by a Majority of Votes at the next General Court.
and that Notice of such intended Election be inserted in the.

proposed as a Governor


Edward Bigg< no role > of Carey Street Lincoln's Inn Esquire
being proposed by Hammond Cross< no role > Esquire to be Elected a Governor
of these Hospitals It is Ordered that such Election shall be
Determined by a Majority of Votes at the next General Court
and that Notice of such intended Election be inserted in the
Summonses for such Court.

Upon Reading a Representation from the Committee
of Bethlem Hospital dated 19th. January Instant under the Hands
of Richard Clark< no role > Esquire Alderman Treasurer Henry Cranke< no role > Esqr .
Auditor General Edward Atkins< no role > Esqr . Mr. Samuel Hall< no role > and
Mr. Deputy Rogers in the words following This Committee taking
into consideration the Rule or Regulation whereby all Lunatic
Patients received into this Hospital are obliged to produce certificate
properly authenticated to ascertain their Parishes or places of Settlement
that in many instances the Friends of the Patients so applying
expences have arisen to their Detriment and inconvenience
especially when such cases happen a considerable time before the
usuall times when General Courts are held for remedy whereof
This Committee is of opinion that if is shall be thought reasonable
and expedient at the next or any future General Court to
delegate a power to this Committee to admit Patients in
such cases without Certificates taking Securitys in double the
