Upon Reading a Report bearing date the 24th day of April
1788 under the Hands of Henry Cranke< no role > Esquire Auditor General and of
Mr. John Watts< no role > Richard Austin< no role > Esquire Mr. Samuel Hall< no role > Mr William
Loveday
< no role > Mr James Bate< no role > Mr. Deputy Wilson and Mr. Deputy Leehey Auditors
of the accounts.

In Pursuance of the General Rules and Orders
Established for the Government of these Hospitals on
the 29th. of May 1776 We do hereby Certify that We
have Audited the accounts of both Hospitals for One
year from Christmas 1786 to Christmas 1787 and find

That there has been received for Rents and Arrears of
Rent on account of Bridewell Hospital as appears in folio 273 of
Mr. Griffiths the Steward and Receivers Cash Book the Sum of}
4341-13-8½

And by Richard Clark< no role > Esqr . Treasurer for Benefactions
to that Hospital as appears in folio 296 of Bridewell Ledger the
Sum of}
150 - -

And also by Mr. Treasurer for Dividends on £3185 East Indice
Annuities as appears in folio 296 of the same Ledger the Sum of}
94-1-

Making in the whole the Sum of4585-14-8½

And that the several Sums of Money paid and expended on account
of that Hospital as appears in folio 297 of the Lodger the Sum of}
4069-9-3½

So that the Receipts on account of that Hospital this year
exceeded the Disbursements by the Sum of}
516-5-5

And We find that the Rent and Annuity Roll
for Bethlem Hospital as appears in folio 324 of
that Hospitals Ledger amounts to}
3263-9-9

That there has been received for Dividends or Stocks
as appears in the same folio}
860-18-6

For Legacies and Benefactions which likewise
appears in the same folio}
236-14-

For Admission Cloathing and Bedding of Patients
and for Maintenance of Incurables}
1759-1-3

And Money out of the Poors Box21-11-11½
Which makes in the whole the Sum of 6141-15-5½

And that the Sum Total of the Monday expended and Disbursed for
Bethlem Hospital (the particulars whereof appear in folio 325 Ledger amounts
to the Sum of6650-12-10

Which makes the Outgoings of Bethlem Hospital this year exceed
the Income by the Sum of £508-17 4½ which was sopplied
out of the Revenues of Bridewell Hospital}
