Continued Thursday 2nd. October 1788

All which is nevertheless submitted to the Judgment of the Court and October
to be Reported to the next General Court This Court having duly weighed
and considered the said Report doth Order that the same be confirmed and
that Slaves be sent to the above Gentleman forthwith.

Hamerton Charles< no role > his Benefaction
of £50 reported


Richard Clark< no role > Esqr . Alderman Treasurer Reported that he had received
of Charles Hamerton< no role > of Bread Street Esquire fifty pounds for the use of Bridewell
and Bethlem Hospitals It was moved and seconded that the thanks of this
Court be given to Mr. Hamerton for his kind and Charitable Donation

Drake William< no role > Junr his Banefaction
of £50 Reported


Richard Clark< no role > Esqr . Alderman Treasurer Reported that he had received
of William Drake< no role > Junior of Agmondesham in the County of Bucks Esquire
Fifty Pounds for the use of Bridewell and Bethlem Hospitals It was moved
and seconded that the thanks of this Court be given to Mr. Drake for his
kind and Charitable Donation

Nominated Governors


At this Court the following Nobleman and Gentlemen were nominated
to be Governors of these Hospitals Vizt. The Right Honorable Thomas Lord< no role >
Sydney< no role > the Honorable John Thomas Townshend< no role > William Drake< no role > Junior of
Agmondesham in the County of Bucks Esquire and George Bowles< no role > of Wansted
in the County of Essex Esquire It is Ordered that the consideration of this
Nomination be referred to the Committee of this House who are desired to
make their Report therein to this Court.

Green William to be paid
£10 Locks Gift


Mr. Deputy Rogers and Mr. William Collier< no role > Two of the Governors
Reported that in pursuance of an order of Court of the 17th. of July last they had
made an Inquiry and found that William Green< no role > late Apprentice to Thomas
Reynolds
< no role > was set up for himself and has the Character of a Diligent and sober
Man It is Ordered that the Steward do pay the said William Green< no role > Ten
Pounds out of Mr. Lock's Gift to be allowed him in his next account

Verry James< no role > to be paid
£10 Locks Gift


Joseph Gape< no role > Esquire one of the Governors Reported that in pursuance
of an Order of Court of the 17th. of July last he had made an Inquiry and found
that James Verry< no role > late Apprentice to William Dell< no role > was set up for himself and
has the Character of a Diligent and Sober Man It is Ordered that the
Slaverd do pay the said James Verry< no role > Ten Pounds out of Mr. Locks' Gift to be
allowed him in his next account.

Applegate Stephen< no role > to be paid
£10 Lock's gift

Reported that in pursuance of an Order of Court of the 17th. of July last they had
made an Inquiry and found that Stephen Applegate late Apprentice to John
Sanders
< no role > was set up for himself and has the Character of a Diligent and Sober
Man It is Ordered that the Steward do pay the said Stephen Applegate
Ten pounds out of Mr. Lock's Gift to be allowed him in his next account
