Upon reading a Report from the Comee of this House bearing date the 31st. of
March last under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear. Dr. Richard
Rawlinson< no role > , Mr Gilbert Malcher< no role > , Mr. Thomas Morris< no role > , Mr Charles Cotton< no role > , Mr
Robert Henshaw< no role > & Walter Pryse< no role > Esqr . as follows Vizt. This Comee taking
notice of the extraordinary diligence of Mr Pice the Porter of this Hospital
are of Opinion that his good service deserves Encouragement and finding his
Salary is but £24. a year besides the £8. a year which is paid to his Men
are of Opinion that his Salary is too small and that it would be proper
to give him a Gratuity as the Court shall think fit which nevertheless is
submitted to the Judgment of the Court And it is Ordered that this Opinion
be reported to the next CourtThis Court having duly weighed and
considered the said Report Doth agree with the Comee that the said Richard [..] have a
Gratuity And Ordered that the Clerk pay him Twenty Guineas as a
Gratuity for the time past to be allowed him in his next Account.
