Mr. Deputy Farington one of the Governors of these Hospitalls reporting
to this Court that in pursuance of an Order of Court the 24th. of Febry last
He and Mr. William Cooper< no role > another of the Governors of these Hospitals had
made enquiry and found that Samuel Francis< no role > who served his Apprenticeship
in this Hospital is set up for himself in the Trade of a Weaver & hath
the Character of a diligent and sober Man It is Ordered that the
Steward of this Hospital do give and pay unto the said Samuel Francis< no role > Ten
Pounds out of Mr. Locks gift to be allowed him in his next Account.

this Court that in pursuance of an Order of Court the 24th of Febry last He
had made enquiry and found that John Wright< no role > who served his
Apprenticeship in this Hospital is set up for himself in the Trade of a
Needlemaker and hath the Character of a diligent and sober Man It is
Ordered that the Steward of this Hospital do give and pay unto the said
John Wright< no role > Ten pounds out of Mr. Locks Gift to be allowed him in his
next Account.

Upon reading a Report from the Comee of this House bearing date the
23d. instant under the hands of Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . Trear . Walter
Pryse
< no role > Esqr . Dr. Richard Rawlinson< no role > . Mr. Robert Henshaw< no role > , Mr. Gilbt. Malcher< no role > ,
Mr. Thomas Morris< no role > , Mr. Samuel Bridgman< no role > , Mr. Depty. Ballard, Mr. Deputy
Faringten & Mr. Richard Romman< no role > as follows Vizt.John Wright< no role > who
was an Apprentice to Mr. Sharpe one of the Artsmaster of this Hospital
lately out of his time being discharged from his Master petitioned for
Locks Gift & the same being referred to your Comittee they examined
his Master as to his behaviour during his Apprenticeship who assured your
Comittee that from the day he was bound Apprentice to him to the
Expiration of his Apprenticeship he always followed his business dately Etc
never lay a Night out of his house or once went out there of without his
leave Therefore We are of Opinion he very well deserves the usual bounty
of Ten pounds Locks Gift with this further observation that your Comittee
recommend him to the consideration of the Court to consider of giving him
such further County as they shall think fit as an Encouragement to
other Boys to follow so good an Example And it is Ordered that this
be reported to the CourtThis Court having duly weighed and
considered the said Report is of Opinion that besides the £10. of Mr. Lock's
Gift some further bounty out of Mr. Fowkes Gift be given to the said
John Wright< no role > for his extraordinary diligence in his Apprenticeship And
upon the Question being put whether £10. or £5. should be given him
the Majority of hands appeared to be for £5. Whereupon It is Ordered
that the clerk do give and pay to the said John Wright< no role > Five pounds
out of Mr. Fowkts Gift to be allowed him in his next Account.
