Upon reading a Report from the Committee of Bridewell Hospital bearing
date the 14th. of Septr. last under the hands of the Word Robert Bishop< no role >
Esqr. Trear , Mr. William Poole< no role > , Wm. prorrice< no role > John May< no role > William Williford< no role >
in the words and figures following Vizt.Benjamin Bucknall< no role > of
Aldgersgate street London Cornfactor proposed to take a Lease of an House
No. 1. in Fowkes Court in Tower street late in the Occupation of John Sky< no role > [..]
belonging to the Hospital of Bethlem for Seven Years to commence from
Michas next at the yearly Rent of Thirty two pounds payable Quarterly
Clear of all Parliamentary or other Taxes or charges whatsoever, being
allowed the first half year's Rent for repairs and to execute a Counterpart
of such Lease to be made with such Covenants as are usual in the Leases
from the Governors of the said Hospital of Bethlem to their TenantsThe
Comittee are of Opinion to accept the said proposalAll which is
nevertheless submitted to the Judgment of the CourtAnd it is Ordered
this Opinion be reported to the next CourtThis Court doth confirm
the said Report and order that a Lease be made to the said Benjamin
Bucknall

Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of Bridewell Hospital bearing
date the 12th. of October last under the hands of the Worshipfull Robert
Bishop
< no role > Esqr . Trear , Mr. Deputy Hodges, Philip Searth< no role > Esqr . Mr. Deputy Street
and Mr. Deputy Ballard in the words and figures following Vizt.
In Pursuance of several orders of this Court bearing date respectively
the 6th. of May and 17th. of February 1736. This Comittee took into Consideration
the Joint Petition of William Mosson< no role > and Robert Thompson< no role > and the Petition of
John Palmer< no role > praying a Lease of Four Houses on the West side of Water street
South of Crown alley and the Ground whereon the same are built situate within
the Precinct of the Hospital of Bridewell being part of the possessions of the said
Hospital for Sixty one years to commence from Christmas next 1737And
this Comee also received proposals from John Smither< no role > and John Howlett< no role > for [..]
Lease of the same premisses for the same TermAnd the Comittee having
viewed the premisses the severall persons abovenamed were called in, in the
Order undermentioned and proposed to pay a Pepper Corn for the first year
and for the residue of the Term the Rent hereunder mentioned without any Deduction
or Abatement for Parliamentary or other Taxes or charges whatsoever and to pay
the Fines undermentioned To pull down the said Houses and instead there of to build
three brick Messuages according to the second rate of Building in London and with
good and sufficient Seanthings of Timber and to accept at their Charge a Lease of
the said premisses with such Covenants as are usually contained in Building Leases
from the Governors to their Tenants And also a Covenant not to let or use the pre [..]
or any part thereof to or for a Slaughter house or Sugar house or any Trade that may
be noisome or offensive to the Neighbours And a Covenant to pay to the Chappel
Wardens of the said Precinct for the time being such Sume and Sumes of money
quarterly in proportion with other occupyers of Ground and Houses in the said
Precinct towards the Charge of the Scavenger Watch and Poor of the said [..]
as shall be rated or assessed from time to time at the usual meetings of the Chappel
Wardens & Inhabitants of the said Precinct & to execute a Couterpart of such
Lease, and after they had been called in again in the some order to know what
they would add to their first proposalls, they made the following Answers Vizt.

Whereupon this Comee having considered the said several proposals are of Opinion to accept

nevertheless submitted to the Judgment of the CourtAnd it is Ordered this Opinion he
reported to the next CourtThis Court doth confirm the said Report & Order the [..]
Lease be made to the said John Palmer< no role > accordingly.
