Upon reading a Report from the Committee of Bridewell Hospital bearing
date the 28th. of September last under the hands of the Worshipful Robert
Bishop
< no role > Esqr . Trear , Mr. Mark Holman< no role > , Mr. Deputy Ballard, Mr. Deputy
Ayliffe and Mr. Deputy Snart in the words and figures following Vizt.
John Sample< no role > of Vine Street near Round Court in the Parish of Saint
Martin in the Fields in the County of Middlesex Wheelwright proposed to
take a Lease of the House in Vinestreet in the Parish of Saint Martin in the
Fields aforesaid situate on the East side of the Message in his occupation
(being part of the possessions of the Hospital of Bethlem) for twenty one years
to commence from Christmas next at the yearly Rent of Twenty Pounds
payable Quarterly clear of all Taxes except the Land tax, and to put the Hase
into Tenantable repair at his own Charge, and to execute a Counterpart of
such Lease to be made with such Covenants as are usual in the Leases from the
Governors of the said Hospital of Bethlem to their TenantsThe Comee are
of Opinion to accept the said proposalUpon which he gave half a Guinea to
the Poors boxAll Which is nevertheless submitted to the Judgment of the
CourtAnd it is Ordered this Opinin be reported to the next Court
This Court doth confirm the said Report and order that a Lease be made
to the said John Sample< no role > accordingly.
