Mary Nichols proceedingsdefend This name instance is in set 1249. , of the Precinct of St. Katherines , was indicted for stealing a Brass Kettle, value 5 s. and other Goods, out of the House of Edward Blount proceedingsvictim , on the 19th of Octobe r last. The Prosecutor swore he lost the Goods, and the Prisoner came to him a while afterwards, and for a Crown told him where they were sold; and upon Enquiry at that place, it appear'd that she was the erson who sold them. She had nothing to say in her Defence, but that she had them from a Sailor; but having no proof of that, nor of her Reputation she was found Guilty of Felony.
