Examination Text | The Examination of Ann Clarke Singlewoman taken on Oath this 29th Day of December Anno Dom 1725. Who on her Oath saith that she is about twenty Years of Age , and that she never was Married, That she was bound and Apprentice by Indre to one Mrs Sherman a Clearstarcher in Durham Yard the backside of the New Exchange in the Strand for four Years and Served her said mistress there the whole Term and continued with her about a fortnight afterwards and then left her , which is about five The years agoe And that she never lived a whole year together with any Person as he Yearly hired Servant , that she never kept house, She Father , on her Oath saith that she is with Child and that one Edward Warburton a Shagreen Watch Casemaker and they Carnal knowledge of her Body at the Bell Inn in Smithfield in a Room three pair of Stairs there and divers times since Saith that he the said Edward Warburton and no Man else is the true & only ffather of the Child or Children she now goeth with & is pregnant off.
