Examination TextMary Gambis aged about 27 Years lodging at the Duke of Marlborough's head Mr Staggs in St Martin's Lane Saith that she is the Wife of Wm Gambis gone from her on account of Debt That she was married to him in St Martin's Church five years , the 2d Day of May next, Saith he was bound and Apprentice to one Mrs Piles who then kept their Ship Tavern at Charing Cross but for how many Years can's say but that he Served her five Years as she had failed him see and then his Mistress left the House and he afterwards plyed as Porter at Hungerfod Stairs, never being hern'd All were or bound an apprentice to any Person afterwards as she knoweth or ever heard, Saith he never kept house Rented £10 Pr Ann or paid any Parochial Taxes as she knoweth, saith , she was Born in Bear Street in the Parish of St Ann Wesrtmr & his ffather Served his time in Cranbone Alley in the same Parish, hath one Child Jane aged about 11 Months.
