Examination TextDaniel Davis aged 33 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from Horndon East in the County of Essex upon his oath saith that he never was bound apprentice kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant, that John Davis, this Examinant's Father, was a Shoemaker by trade and kept house in Hill's Alley in Long Acre in this said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, but how long time or at what rent he cannot tell, his father dying when he this Examinant was very young, but that he believes he was born at his father's house in Hills Alley aforesaid, that his wife Jane Davis aged 24 years to whom he was married the Parish Church of Horndon East in the County of Essex about 12 months ago is now with this Examinant. Sworn the 13th Day of March 1747 before Daniel Gach.
