Examination TextEdward Vanderbean aged 57 years lodging at Mrs. Camel's in Dawsons Alley in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes, but that he was a yearly hired servant to William Chapman a Shoemaker in Cross Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of four years at the yearly wages of 8 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 30 years ago and never lived in any one service for 12 months together since, that he was married to his present wife Elizabeth at St Andrew's Church Holborn London about 24 years ago. Sworn the 26th Day of January 1749 before James Fraser.
