Examination TextMartha Norton aged 47 years and upwards lodging at Mrs Scarlet's in Mercer Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a Covenant Servant to Mrs. Elizabeth Knapton a Mantua Maker in Hanover Street in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one year, but that she that she lodged and dieted with her Father William Norton who lived in and rented an house in Drury Lane next Mr Cartony's, that she quitted her said mistress about 20 years ago, that she never had kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the sixth day of May 175[1] before James Fraser.
