Examination TextAnn Giles aged 15 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that she was born in Turners Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish aforesaid, that her father [blank] Giles was a Taylor by trade and learnt the same at Dunbar in Scotland as she has heard her mother say, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together in England as she this Examinant ever heard, that her father has been dead about 14 years and her mother about three years. Taken in the workhouse the 23rd Day of October 1750.
