Examination Text | William East aged about 44 years lodging at Mr Thomas East's in Salisbury Street in the Strand in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he is a Lighterman by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to George [Tenas] Coal Merchant in Durham Yard in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served his said Master all the said term out which expired about 16 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes or been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 16th Day of October 1750 before James Fraser. |
