Examination Text | John Cary aged about 67 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Ann within the liberty of Westminster upon his oath saith he never was bred to any trade, that that he learn'd to make women's clogs and that he lived in and rented an house in Middlesex Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one year and an half at the yearly rent of 10 pounds and upwards besides taxes, quitted the same about 25 years ago and never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that he was married to his present wife Eliza in White Parish in the County of Hants. about 44 years ago now in the workhouse aforesaid. Sworn the 14th Day of February 1752 before James Fraser. |
