Examination TextMary Field aged about 35 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Borough of Hertford in the County of Hertford upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Sawyer a Jeweller in Duke Street York Buildings in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of five years at the yearly wages of 4 pounds for the first year and 5 pounds for the other four years diet and lodging, quitted the same about 14 years [ago] and hath never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 12th Day of February 1752 before Benjamin Cox.
