Examination TextSarah Howcraft aged 28 years lodging at Mr Jones's a Chandler in Church Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Thomas Howcraft (gone from her) to whom she was married at St Peter's Church in the town of Liverpool in the County of Lancaster the first Day of October 1740, that he is a Shoemaker by trade and lived in and rented an house in Orange Court in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of seven years at the yearly rent of 16 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same last Michaelmas and hath not kept house rented 10 pounds by the year [nor] paid any parish taxes since, that she hath four children by her said husband now living to wit Thomas aged five years, Ann aged four years, Mary aged about three years and William aged about 16 months all now with this Examinant. Sworn the 11th Day of February 1752 before Benjamin Cox.
