Examination TextTheophila Carnaby aged 27 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster upon her oath saith that she is the wife of John Carnaby (gone from her) to whom she was married at St Martin's Church in this Parish about 10 years ago, that he is a Smith by trade and served his apprenticeship to John Seaman a Smith against Cecil Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid, that he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant since. Sworn the 12th Day of November 1751 before Benjamin Cox.
