Examination TextLawrence Rapley aged 76 years and upwards destitute of lodging upon his oath saith he is a Cooper by trade and was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Anthony Smith a Cooper near Kynastons Alley in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all the said time out which expired 53 years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant since, that he was married to his present wife Elizabeth at Chatham in Kent 23 years ago. Sworn the 12th Day of April 1753 before G. L. Fouare.
