Examination TextThe Examination of Mary Emmerton Taken this Twenty third Day of December in the year 1785. This Examinant on her oath saith that she is 52 years of age that she never was married bound an apprentice Kept House rented a tenement of ten Pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired Servant in any One Place for twelve months together that her father Thomas Emmerton who Died about Forty years ago was born in the Parish of Ridgemand in the County of Bedford as she this Examinant hath been informed but the Particualler part she cannot tell that her said Father never Kept House paid any Parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for twelve Months together to this examinants Knowledge or belief that this Examinant's mother who died about Fourteen years was born in Little Queen Street in the Parish of St Giles in the Fields in the County of Middlesex as she this examinant hath been informed and Verily believes to be true that she her said Mother never Kept House rented a tenement of ten pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one Place for twelve months together to this Examinants Knowledge or belief.
