Examination Text | Elizabeth Elley aged 54 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Simon Rogers a Staymaker in George Street York Buildings in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served all her time out, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the seventh Day of January 1753. |
