Examination TextMary Watson aged 52 lodging at a house in Pipemakers Alley in Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Stephen Watson (who died about 20 years ago) to whom she was married at St Giles's Church in the Fields about 25 years ago, that he was a Shoemaker by trade but never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant, that his father Stephen Watson was a Publican and lived in and rented a house in that part of the Strand next Charing Cross in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for several years, but what rent he paid or when quitted [it] this Examinant cannot tell, that he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant nor been a yearly hired servant since her said husband's death.
