Examination Text | Jane Baugh aged 64 years lodging in a cellar under the house of Mr Harmain a Peruke Maker in Cecil Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Jonathan Baugh (who died 27 years ago) to whom she was married at St Andrew's Church in Holborn 40 years ago, that since his death she was a yearly hired servant to Mr [Cann] a Cheesemonger the corner of St Martin's Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 10 years at the yearly wages of 4 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about four years ago, that she never kept house rented at separate tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 22nd Day of September 1755 before Benjamin Cox. |
