Examination TextThomas Proctor aged 62 years and upwards lodging at Mr Dance's in Sheltons Court in Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he is a Cordwainer by trade, that he lived in and rented an house in the Legg Alley in Long Acre in the Parish aforesaid for the space of one year at the yearly rent of 10 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about 14 years ago, that he hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since, that he was married to his present wife Ann at St Andrew's Church in Holbourne 43 years ago, that he had a son by his said wife to wit William (who died in June last), that his said son was a soldier, that he never was bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that his said son had a reputed wife now living to wit Mary but where they were married he this Examinant knoweth not, and is now in the workhouse of and in the said Parish. Sworn the third Day of July 1756 before Benjamin Cox.
