Examination TextCaroline Steel aged 24 years in the Workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields born her Oath saith that she never was Married that she was by the Guardians of the Foundling Hospital bound an Apprentice by an Indenture until she should Attain the Age of Twenty one years to Tobias Wildbore aDeyer and Trimmer in Woodsclose in the Parish of St James Clerkenwell in the County of Middlesex and there served her said Master for One year and an half or thereabouts and then her said Master was a Bankrupts and was taken to the Kings Bench and then she this Deponent Continued in the said House with the person who succeeded her said Master for ten Months after her said Master went to the Kings Bench that she this Deponent never was Assigned although to any Person Kept House rented a tenement of ten Pounds by the year paid any Parish taxes nor was a yearly hired Seven in any one place for twelve Months together since that Expiration of her said Apprenticeship. And this Examinant on her Oath Further saith that she was on the first Day of November Instant Delivered in St Martin's Workhouse aforesaid of a Male Bastard Child ( since Christened Walter ) yet Living and no with this Examinant for Nurture..
