Examination TextAnn Jones aged 20 Years upon her Oath saith that she was never Married nor bound Apprentice , that she was a yearly hired Servant to Mr Wm Morris at the Sign of the Castle in Bull Inn Court, Strand in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields for the space of One Year and Three Months all under one hiring at the Yearly Wages of 7 Pounds beside Diet & lodging quitted the same about Twelve Months ago since which she hath done no act to gain a subsequent Settlement. And this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that she is now big with Child or Children , which is or are likely to be Born a Bastard door Bastards and become chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields and that William Knibbs who lives about Hoxton had several Times carnal Knowledge of her Body then one of which Times did beget her with the Child or Children she now Gaullist with and is pregnant of and that he the said William Knibbs is the true and only ffather thereof & no Man else.
