Examination Text | The Examination of Ann Brown of Mutton hill Clerkenwell relative to the settlement of William Clark an Infant born in February 1793 who upon Oath saith that the said William Clark is the legitimate issue of Christopher Clark who is absconded and Mary his Wife , who Died the 5th Day of July last that she has been informed & verily believes to be true that the said Christopher Clark lived in and rented a House in that part of Castle Street which is in the Parish of St Martin in the ffields for the space of Nine Months at the Yearly Rent of £26, quitted the same about 23 Years ago , & hath never gained a subsqt Settlement and belief. Sworn this 23d Day of December 1793 before John Collick Ann Brown her Mark This Chd was remd from Clerkenwell to St Andrw the Parish Settlemt who Appealed & proved the above. |
