Examination TextMary Barron aged 70 years in the Alms House in Hog Lane belonging to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Stephen Barron (who died 20 years ago) to whom she was married at St Bennetts Church by Drs. Commons, London, 30 years ago, that her said husband was a Gingerbread Baker by trade and lived in and rented an house in Cross Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of one year and a quarter at the yearly rent of 21 pounds besides taxes and there died, that she this Examinant never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year or paid any parish taxes after the death of her said husband, but that she was a yearly hired servant since the said husband's death to Mr Griffin a Calendar in Vinegar Yard in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years at the yearly wages of five pounds diet and lodging, that she hath not been a yearly hired servant since she quitted the said Mr Griffin's service. Sworn the sixth day of May before Thomas Kynaston.
