Examination Text | John Bennett aged about 19 years of age in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he never was married, that he was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Mr Tatnall a Chimney Sweeper in One Tun Alley in the Strand in the Parish aforesaid and there served four years and an half and then parted by consent which is about two years ago, that he this Examinant never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the fifth day of June 1760. |
