Examination Text | Elizabeth Thornton aged 19 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of Christ Church in the County of Middlesex upon her oath saith that she never was married bound an apprentice kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together, that she hath been informed that her Father Anthony Thornton, who is a cordwainer by trade, lived in and rented an house in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid (but the particular part she cannot tell), but what rent he paid for the same how long he kept the said house or when quitted the same she this Examinant cannot tell, that her said father hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes since to this Examinant's knowledge.
