Examination TextMargery Jones aged 65 years in the Alms House in Hogg Lane belonging to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of John Jones (who died 14 years ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet about 30 years ago, that her said husband was a Taylor by trade and lived in and rented an house in Cecil Court in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of 10 years at the yearly rent of 21 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about two years before her said husband died, that her said husband never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes after, that she this Examinant hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since the death of her said husband. Sworn the 24th Day of February 1768 before Peter Planck.
